In addition to mountains, rivers and trees, Yosemite also has tourists. They ride around in guided tours that make a lot of noise.
It is therefore advisable to come during the week and around the end of April or May, when it's not so crowded. Taking some of the more difficult hikes is also an option, since most of the tourists are not good on foot so you'll be relatively alone.
